I am a Peoria area resident who believes people want better food choices. I am a determined and committed individual kicking off this campaign. Let us show Trader Joe's that this city wants them!!
Trader Joe's is a small grocery store with great products, fair prices, and dedication to the community to which it serves. TJ's (as it's affectionately known by devoted shoppers) started in the 1960's in California. The store has grown and the chain was purchased (or merged?) with the German-owned ALDI company.
As you know we have a 'Fresh Market' and it does outstanding business. However Trader Joe's promises not to carry food with GMO ingredients' where others don't. Trader Joe's also carries great Organic wine at the lowest prices.
We need more stores with healthy food selections, quality products, yet affordable pricing.
I am optimistic if we get enough people to 'like' this page we will catch the attention of the Trader Joe's corporate offices and that they will officially evaluate opening a Peoria store.
